• Adds a 3rd alphabet vs. the 230PE for a total of 3
• Adds 2 more buttonhole styles for a total of 5
• The Free Hand System (FHS) is standard on the 240. This knee-operated Bernina innovation raises the presser foot and lowers the feed dog so you can keep your hands on the fabric when guiding & pivoting
• The Cool Fluorescent Light (CFL) is standard on the 240: it is optional on the other activa models.
